Charley Mill Charity Shoot 2008
Welcome to the website of the "Charley Mill Charity Shoot" - dedicated to the generation of funds for children's charities.
Over £50,000 raised in 2007, what a fantastic achievement- and its all down to the generosity of everyone participating in the event.
This year we hope to raise over £75,000! but to acheive this once again we need your support.

2006's cheque being handed over. Left to right Geof Ellis (Rainbows), James Blick (Finesse Hotels), Robert Cole (Mather Jamie), Sarah Staines (Rainbows), John Wroughton (Kegworth Shooting Ground) and Michael Massarella (Louella).

A proud moment for the team as the keys to the new bus are finally handed over! Like many great ideas in life, Charley Mill Charity Shoot was born from one of those innocent well meaning debates over a pint of beer and a glass of wine between friends. Being brought together through a mix of personal circumstances and a genuine desire to make a difference, the discussion turned into a "well what are we going to do about it then"!
In the first year, 2005, a simple objective of raising over £5,000, to contribute towards the purchase of a minibus that the Rainbows Hospice so desperately needed. Amazingly £11,400 was raised. This, combined with the £25,000 raised in 2006, and funds raised through other sporting events means that Rainbows have now ordered and will soon benefit from their new means of transport.
Since 2006 the network of friends and business associates has grown and as such our sights have been set even wider on the goal of generating considerably more funds, cost effectively, whilst ensuring everyone participating has a great time and will want to return. Last year we raised over a staggering £50,000 CHECT have benifited from a new Cryo machine that identifies and freezes eye cancers and Rainbows have been able to firm up plans for a Multisensory room. Over the next 2 years the team has made a commitment to both charities to support thier investments in infrastrucutre and specialist equipment.
Including on the Friday a "Shoot Ball", on the Saturday a classic "English Sporting Clay" shoot and on the Sunday the traditional "Team Flush". This year there are the added attractions of the "Charley Challange" a 100' high tower, a Grouse Butt and your chance to become a World Record holder!
We only hope you will be able to join us for what promises to be a memorable weekend!
